Federal Data On File Sharing Network
According to reports the sensitive information about nuclear installations was accidently published on the Government Printing Office website recently. This is just the latest security problem with sensitive documents ending up on the Internet with some ending up on peer-to peer sites.
A document that was dated July 2009 that listed the location of all nuclear missile silos in the United states, along with surveillance photos belonging to the FBI of a mafia hit man were leaked to the Internet while the hit man was on trial. There were also documents that included a list of witnesses in the witness protection program that made their way to the Internet and a document of the chairs of the U.S. Secret Service for the location and layout of an emergency safe house for the First Lady.
These problems were discussed at a House Government Oversight & Government Reform Committee hearing of sharing office files via peer-to-peer.
